People go on a trek for several
reasons; few trek for the enthusiasm of it, some trek to find out new places and
cultures, some do it get earlier to the beauties of the mountains while some hike
to find a sense of peace.
As soon as you sign up for treks,
it is essential to know about the things to do and not to do about trekking:
- Take your backpack and do not divest it
Carrying your backpack is a
part of the trekking experience. It is a witness to your mental and
physical strength and is very empowering. This practice is supported for
two more reasons. Initially, even though there is a specific weight limit for rucksacks,
it is frequently found that trekkers are coming with heavy bags. In addition,
every time you offload a backpack, an added porter is taken. With that
comes the requirement for added resources which results in excess waste
generation. Thus, it is suggested to give it a stern thought before choosing
to offload your rucksack.
- Carry items that are recyclable
This is quite self-evocative.
Most trekkers find it annoying to wash their own utensils. Some bring offhand
items for the trek. Although reusable water bottles are suggested,
use-and-throw bottles are often used by quite a few. Not only are
they a health risk, they tend to collect and usually do not find a way out
from the mountains. Keep in mind that plastic bottles, plates are a common
view. They take quite a few years to decompose and are a danger to
any ecosystem, thus, it is better to avoid such products.
- Take your ravage back
Finding places to arrange
waste correctly is a continuous confront. Even when one does, the
state of landfills is a far cry from set environmental standards. The best way to reduce the load on
these landfills is by intentionally taking back devastated which is generated.
This includes the plastic bottles, packaged food wrappers, etc.
- Don’t eat sloppily
Trekking is a challenging
activity. Adequate nutrition is essential. Prepared from
refined flour, noodles and other packaged food are anything but nourishing. To
add to that it cause digestive disarrays. At high
altitudes, indigestion is a common confusion. It is always significant to persuade
local food as it is outstanding for the environment, supports local
sustainable farming and you get to knowledge the local culture.
- Do not misuse
Use resources severely. Trekking
is all about enjoying nature and surviving with negligible necessities. Therefore,
take on that idea and absorb it. Even organic and ecological waste is waste. So,
ensure to avoid wasting.
- Do not contaminate
The rivers you cross are the foundation
of drinking water for several. Those in the valley eat this water without
filtering directly. Hence, washing and peeing in the stream is a big no-no.
Birds and animals often turn away from the sounds and change their behavioral outlines. Hence, make sure to not upset our hosts and take pleasure in them in their natural setting.
